A KLM stewardess from Haarlem was hospitalized with mild symptoms after working the 25 April Johannesburg-to-Amsterdam flight on which a Dutch passenger from MV Hondius later died. Five people in close contact were placed in isolation. All tested negative for hantavirus. WHO confirmed the negative results on 8 May. Tracked here because the chain (ship → SA → KLM flight → NL crew) is the kind of cross-border exposure path the WHO multi-country statement specifically flagged.
